School Safety Protocols

YCSD has adopted the I Love U Guys Foundation Standard Response Protocol (SRP) for emergency situations. While many of our action steps will be familiar to staff, students and families, this protocol replaced terms like "modified lockdown" with clear, consistent language whether responding to severe weather, a fire or gas leak, or criminal activity on or near a school campus.
Students will learn more about the protocols during the first week of school to help them become familiar with the terms and steps to take in an emergency. Schools will also practice the protocols in recurring safety drills.
