Panther News - September 25-29
Dear Panther Families,
We hope that our panther families remained safe and secure during the recent storm.
Updated information is the key to success when we look at getting our students home safely, especially when there is a schedule change. Our Health and Emergency Contact Cards are very helpful and we ask that at least one or more family members are listed for contact when needed. Please ensure that you have downloaded the YCSD App and created a Rycor account. Important forms such as the Student Handbook and Field Trip permission forms are found on Rycor. If you have any difficulties creating an account, please reach out to our main office. We will walk you through the steps.
We are beginning to see an uptick in absences this year. Parent/Guardians must provide written documentation for an absence to be excused. Written letters will be accepted but our preferred method of communication is emails sent to mesattendance@ycsd.york.va.us. If your child was seen by a doctor or health care provider, please submit a medical note. It is important that students are in school to continue to grow as learners! Being on time and preset is a lifelong habit. We want to develop this habit with all of our Magruder Panthers.
Our fabulous PTA held their first meeting last week and we appreciate seeing several parents and those willing to volunteer for events. Please consider joining the PTA. There is no volunteer time that is too short or too long.
