Panther News - October 9-13
Dear Panther Families,
Our panther students had a super charged fun and instructional week! Our kindergarteners enjoyed Holly Forks Farm on Friday and Mr. Williams' fifth graders went to the James River Association's docks to board a boat and explore ecology. The Makerspace was busy with our fifth graders building and programing a device to knock over an object with invisible atoms. This is hard to picture but the team work and end product was fabulous!
We are excited to announce that Leeann Turner, fifth grade teacher, has been named MES' Teacher of the Year! We are proud of the work, energy, and positivity that Mrs. Turner brings to our school community!
We are proud of the student artwork displayed in Colonial Williamsburg this weekend for An Occasion for the Arts! A shout-out goes to our art teacher, Madison Morgan, for setting up and representing Magruder!
Panther Families: Do you or someone you know have a prosthetic limb? In conjunction with learning about force and motion and Disability Awareness month, the fifth grade students will be engaging in a design challenge to build a working prosthetic limb. We'd love to kick off this unit with Magruder Panther Family or Friends with a prosthetic who would be willing to share their expertise.
This week is Fire Prevention and School Lunch Week! We will share important facts about both on our Morning Show. Ask your child about what they are learning and please thank a cafeteria worker.
